Why PharmUp Was Created
The journey to becoming a registered pharmacist in Great Britain can be challenging.
Applicants must understand complex requirements, prepare university applications, attend interviews, complete mpharm or OSPAP, apply through Oriel, prepare for SJT and numeracy assessments, make preferencing decisions, undertake foundation training and eventually pass the GPhC Registration Assessment.
Each stage brings different questions, deadlines and pressures. It can be particularly difficult when you are also adjusting to a new country, a new healthcare system and a different approach to pharmacy practice.
PharmUp was created to make this journey easier to navigate.
We want pharmacists to have access to clear explanations, realistic preparation and practical support from someone who has personally completed the same pathway. The aim is not simply to provide information, but to help pharmacists prepare strategically, avoid common mistakes and feel supported throughout the process.
Meet the Founder
I founded PharmUp as a pharmacist who has personally completed the journey coming from oversease, completing OSPAP to the GPhC Registration Assessment.
Jasmine completed the OSPAP programme during the 2024–2025 academic year and participated in the 2024 Oriel recruitment process. I achieved an Oriel assessment score within the top 5% and received 100% in the numeracy assessment.
I then completed my foundation training in an NHS hospital and passed the 2026 GPhC Registration Assessment on her first sitting, achieving:
106 in the clinical paper
37 in the calculations paper
These first-hand experiences form the foundation of PharmUp’s resources and services.
Having experienced the demands, uncertainty and pressure of the pathway personally, I understand that applicants often need more than information taken from official guidance. They also need practical explanations, realistic preparation and insight into what each stage is actually like.
PharmUp combines this first-hand experience with professional pharmacy knowledge and lessons gathered throughout OSPAP, Oriel, foundation training and registration assessment preparation.
How PharmUp Supports You
PharmUp provides preparation and professional support for pharmacists at different stages of their journey. Our current services include Oriel SJT and numeracy preparation, preferencing guidance, workshops, mock assessments and personalised appointments. We are also developing GPhC mock examinations, clinical and calculations question banks, and short teaching videos for both Oriel and the GPhC Registration Assessment.
A dedicated overseas pharmacist support service is also available for internationally qualified pharmacists navigating the GPhC application, OSPAP university applications, interviews and the route to registration in Great Britain. This personalised service is handled directly by PharmUp’s founder, Jasmine, who has personally completed the overseas pharmacist registration pathway.
